Citizen Commitment Week (CCW) is an increasingly important part of the UK Corporate Responsibility (CR) initiative.

CCW showcass all the CR activities we conduct throughout the year, i.e.:

  • Fundraising and Charitable Giving

Staff raise funds through events taking place all year round in order to contribute to our charitable giving. With matching donations from the UK Charitabl Trust, payroll giving and donations from Group teams, we donate a total of £600k - £700k each year to more than 45 charities.

CCW gives a strong boost to our charitable giving, and in CCW 2010 we aim to exceed last year's contribution of £51,000.

  • Volunteering

The main focus of our staff volunteering programmes is to help the disadvantaged, our local partner schools and the local communities. Staff can take up to 2 days off per year to volunteer, either local to our offices or close to their homes for their own adopted charity.

Around 350 UK staff volunteer under our CR programmes each year. In 2010 we expect more than 80 volunteers to participate in our CCW events.

  • Environment

As awareness of environmental issues grows, staff and the Bank combine to combat climate change, notably as part of the Bank's commtiment to become carbon neutral by 2012.

In CCW 2010, 30 staff will help maintain a local nature reserve and an eco-project will be launched for the Roof Garden at SG House.

See the table below for a full listing of our CCW 2010 activities and contact the CR team on +442077624913 if you require more details.
